Remote work or work from home?

With this pandemic, companies start looking more for “work from home” solutions, and they are asking/searching about these solutions.

There is a difference, between remote work and working from home.

Of course tools, maybe are the same, but the environment is not. Staying at home with your laptop is not the same like staying, let’s say, on a beach with your laptop.

I have only two girls at home, somehow not all the time together, but still I’m missing my office. If I will be at terrace with a coffee in front of me and with the sun above, I think I will not miss my office much.

Don’t you think?

Or at least my emotions will be different, outside with people in an open environment, this is remote work. I can be in my car driving to mountains and still can work, this is remote work, different from “work from home”.
“work from home” term is only on employer mouth and “remote work” on employee mind, which is a difference. Big one, don’t you think?

Now, because these terms are different also the environment and tools are different.
If you are working from home first you will need a space, not a couch, a space, your home office space. I don’t need to tell you how this space should be, because *everybody is different, but you need quiet and ventilated one.
I don’t need to say that you need a desk and a chair, but also a bottle of water, big one. Them you will need your office tools like laptop/printer/mouse/webcam… or just your laptop…
